At first I tried another plugin, but that did not work since the 2021 theme. This Plugin takes a totally different approach, it goes into the footer and takes out the text you specify. It starts by creating a new menu option in the tools...

An agency, who’d done a sloppy job, left a protected attribution in the footer. This plugin quickly allowed me to remove that attribution, and I look forward to them noticing, being irked, and not daring to call me.

The plugin is good and works even on free versions of paid themes that are protected from editing, though not 100%. The plugin developer cannot anticipate all the tricks used by theme creators. Thank you for your work!
